Here at South Molton we enjoy a
first-class reputation, not only among our
residents and their families and friends, but
nationally.
We have set ourselves extremely high
standards for the care and well-being of
our residents, which is reflected not only
in the quality of the services and facilities
we offer them, but in the kind and caring
attitude of our staff and the standard of their training.

The original building was completely refurbished and extended in 2002 so that we could provide nursing care in our community. The project had, as its central theme, the well-being and quality of life of those in our care. This was the core of our brief to our architects and designers, and we were extremely proud to win the Best Revival Project in the 2003 “The Caring Business and Pinders Healthcare Design Awards” – we are the only Care Home in the South West to have won this.
These are national awards, where innovation and architectural standards are very important, but which are also all about recognising the needs and desires of the residents. We offer a caring and friendly atmosphere in a stimulating but relaxing environment. There are wonderful gardens for sitting or strolling in, and light and airy communal spaces which are designed to allow socialising in small groups for conversation, and reading or other quiet activities.
Our menus offer home-cooked cuisine from around the world, reflecting the more adventurous tastes of residents who are likely to be more widely travelled than previous generations. Wherever possible, our ingredients are sourced locally. We cater for all dietary and nutritional needs, offer a wide range of teas and coffees and also encourage residents to enjoy a glass of wine or sherry if this is their preference. Room service is always an option.
